The Perceptionist.....

It’s one beautiful Friday evening and behold a cluster of birds making very distinct noises in and around the village. One of them stands out there very distinctly on a far but nearby branch of one of the worn out trees. It stands still waiting for it’s partner who may have gone on a wild goose chase in search of food to survive them both for the night that is soon to come. As it looks around, it finds so many neighboring birds in it’s vicinity. Some of which belong to it’s tribe just like itself while some that belong to other tribes, all preparing themselves for the night that is soon to unfold. They can be heard beautifully chirping to each other as a way of conveying important messages to members of their tribes. A feel of great joy and happiness can be heard from within the depths of their hearts as they are finally able to discover all their near and dear relatives and friends having been separated for years and for generations of persecution from their fello...

The night has just unfolded, and behold the skies filled with stars shining in their greatest volume, bringing light to the living beings below it at distances from their splendour. They shine brightly in their entirety as they make way to conquer the world with the light that it deserves at this point in time.   As darkness now envelops the world, as nations join hands together to fight the spread of the disease, and as people take refuge in their shelters, a greater understanding of humanity has now dissolved into the hearts and minds of people.  A humanity that knows no bounds, a humanity where we are all brothers and sisters united in diversity, a humanity where there exists no differences between ourselves and our fellow neighbors, a humanity where we learn to respect each other’s personal opinions about life and finally a humanity which is filled with boundless love for one another transcending all social and cultural barriers, paving the way for a greater ...

It’s yet another bright and sunny evening, and out stands a house in what appears to be quite a darken state, reminiscing on how beautiful a dwelling it could create for it’s potential and deserving buyer. With a broad and wide expanse roofing, filled with the intricate Goan tiles of the Portuguese era, it stands still, filled with lot of sorrow and grief of not having been a worthy dwelling of a previous resident. Having gone through lot of troubles and sorrows over decades of being abandoned and left to wither off with the weeds and the wild plants, for once did it get the relief that it was going to have a new look for itself to fit in with the beauty and glamour of it’s other neighbors in the vicinity when it’s owners were indeed getting news of a potential buyer to resell the house to. It’s another bright and beautiful Friday evening, and behold the sun, with it’s bright and boundless glory, magnifies the skies with it’s bright and everlasting rays touching upon each and every single life-form and creature on this earth. With birds tweeting as they prepare to make their way into their nests, with flowers almost drooping as they prepare themselves for the arrival of night time and with mosquitos buzzing around as they prepare for their feast before sunset, it is indeed a beautiful sight to behold!!! One blissful evening, I sit out, gazing at the thick and luscious vegetation I see infront of me when suddenly, I spot a small and a very intrigue hut, set out in the woods.   A very eye-catching one as it appears to be, it stands out amidst all the darkness and the solitary nature filled with the creepy sounds that characterizes the arrival of night time and late evening..... A spot on for many wanderers, it arouses in one’s mind, the curiosity of one can imagine the variety of activities that the people would be doing in that shelter. The tartar sheets that it is made out of makes it really stand out and be a focus of attention amidst all the other objects of nature and the environment that it is surrounded with....   A ceaseless collection of the various popular Hindi tunes dating back to the late 80’s and the 90’s can be heard from within the confines of this temporary shelter which is what it is as a way of bringing out life into the otherwise quiet ...

                                          It was around two years back, I went out on one particular day to a new salon in the U.A.E , as usual for a haircut but this time it had to be special as it was for the Farewell which was going to be the next day in the morning, so I had to have my hair set the previous day in order to look good for the following day. So as usual, I went to the salon which is a bit further away from my house, I entered the salon, waited for my turn and then when the hair-dresser was free, I went to him. The hair-dresser was a Filipino, indeed a different nationality, and as I heard that Filipinos are very good in cutting hair, so too did I expect that he would cut my hair well and give it the style that I desired to have. I was just grasping today over something which I felt was worth making a mention of especially considering the fact that today, it influences both our personal and professional lives a lot. It is nothing but social media. Social media which for us started off as a way of connecting with our close friends and family members today has had a really profound impact on our day to day lives.
